YERBA MATE "THE LIQUID VEGETABLE"

Take a trip to Argentina, where they sip Yerba Mate all day long, and dance the tango all night! This tea is considered to be the drink of friendship. The leaves are steeped in cold water, then in hot.  This method of brewing creates a balanced flavor rather then boiling the tea, which would make it bitter tasting.  Traditionally, it is sipped through a bambillo straw.   Yerba Mate contains 24 vitamins and minerals.  These include Vitamins A, C, E, B1, B2, B3 (Niacin), B Complex, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, Magnese, Potasium, Selenium, Phosphourus, Zinc.  There are 15 amino acids, and 11 polyphenols which act as excellent antioxidants in the tea.  These compounds include, Carotene, Chlorophyll, Panthothenic Acid, Tannins, Fatty Acids, Trace Minerals, and Inositol. The high content of polyphenols prevents carcinogens from binding to our organs and DNA. Yerba Mate is also a powerful preventative of cancer, as well as breaks down kidney stones, as it cleanses the Organs.  One can see why this tea is nicknamed "The Liquid Vegetable". It does contain Caffeine, yet it is such a small amount in comparison to coffee.   Yerba Mate also contains the unique stimulants, Theophyllene and Thyobromine.  These are similar stimulants that are found in chocolate and create the high energy feel when sipping Yerba Mate.
